The early part of this year is being spent on base fitness. This will continue till the end of April when a build and a peak period will start culminating in a mock 3/4 IM around Whitsun. Then it is a case of recover then return to base training, then build and start the peak for Sherborne. Tuesday I was working in Swanage and had finished by 1pm. This gave me an opportunity to check out the IMUK bike course. The stories I had heard were of hills, hills and more hills, however these people must live in Holland as there were climbs and undulations but no worse that the Vitruvian (a course I drove on Weds as I was working in Peterborough) Wednesday morning I managed to get into the pool and followed this up with a bike session on Thursday morning and a long run on Thursday night. Friday saw me TT my swim (45 mins—2.5km) whilst Saturday I competed in a Karatethon and Sunday was East Leake Aquathlon. Still managing the schedule by clever juggling.

Week com 5/3/2007

Three long sessions (3/4 hour swim, 1h30m run and 4h bike) culminated in a bike session on Sunday legs felt that they belonged to someone else after I got off the bike, so obviously need to turn this into a brick session. Allied to this were several shorter technical sessions in each of the disciplines.
